Trek & Bike at Paso Desolación (full day)

From our base in Ensenada, the van takes us to Petrohué, on the shore of emerald Lake Todos los Santos. The Paso Desolación trail starts there. To learn more about Lake Todos los Santos and Petrohué, see our guide. The trip takes about 6 hours.

Hiking Paso Desolación up to 1,200 m

The hike climbs the slopes of Osorno Volcano to 1,200 m, with the volcano always in sight. Then we walk down through a dry volcanic landscape, with its mosses, lichens and small flowers, to the hut at La Picada. On the way we pass the La Picada viewpoint.

Mountain biking down from La Picada

The bikes are waiting for us at the La Picada hut. From there you feel the rush of the descent: volcanic sand and rock, humid forest and green fields. It is a way to see the variety around Osorno Volcano in a single day.

Trek & Bike Cayutué Valley to Ralún (full day)

Trail to Cayutué Lagoon (about 1 h 30)

The hike to Cayutué Lagoon takes about an hour and a half. Along the way there is native forest, clear streams and birds. From the lagoon you see the Andes and Puntiagudo Volcano.

Bike ride down to Ralún

Then we walk back to the trailhead. There we get on the bikes and ride about 10 km down to Ralún, with views of the Reloncaví estuary.
